In the Electric Universe Theory, sometimes referred to as Plasma Cosmology, Wallace Thornhill and company offer a unique perspective on certain interstellar anomalies too often ignored in the field of astrophysics. Generally perceived as pseudo-science by much of mainstream academia, the overall consensus being this is a theory which “offers an answer to a question that isn’t.” Seems contemporary astrophysicists are apparently content with cosmological models requiring Dark Matter which can’t be detected, and Dark Energy that can’t be measured. Obviously no serious cause for questions or concerns there…

In this rather lively alternative cosmological model, we reconsider the possible effects of electromagnetism upon large scale cosmic structures, and it’s influence during the formation of solar systems and galaxies. While most gladly accept gravity as the ruling principle, Thornhill suggests instead electrical fields are in fact the primary motive force in the Universe. Offering examples of electrical phenomena familiar in nature, he explains how ionized plasma actually makes up about 99.999% of the observable universe. In this fascinating presentation, we learn interactions within energetic electromagnetic fields cause ionized particles to flow along conduits of interstellar plasma, stretching across vast cosmic distances.

Before encountering this lecture, I first watched another great video with Thornhill titled Thunderbolts of the Gods, co-produced with author David Talbott. Including much of the same material on Electromagnetic Plasma Cosmology, with the addition of several parallels drawn from arcane historical references, classical mythological themes, suggesting their continued influence upon human evolution. Talbott’s contribution actually seems rather reminiscent of ideas originally conceived by Immanuel Velikovsky.

Over the years, their collaboration has evolved into a grand theoretical framework now called the “Electric Universe Theory.” Thornhill and Talbott have continued developed an adamant following on the global lecture circuit, and when confronted by skeptics over various theoretical discrepancies, Thornhill has been quoted as saying “In an interdisciplinary science like the Electric Universe, you could say we have no peers, so peer review is not available.”

Mighty rarified air there… Although rather admire the tenacity of anyone so absolutely dedicated to their divergent theoretical model. It’s almost contagious.

Here is an extraordinary fact: there is nothing in the recurring attributes of the dragon that cannot be explained by plasma discharge. The creature is constituted of fire or “breathes” fire. It displays long-flowing “hair” or “feathers,” a telltale feature of plasma discharge. That its writhing form appears in the sky as chaos and darkness overtake the world is exactly what we should expect of a high energy discharge event.
