So if you really want to get your science geek on today, consider investigating a rather new field of elementary physics, commonly known as “An Exceptionally Simple Theory of Everything” but technically referred to as “E8 Theory.” While there remain continuing uncertainties as to the overall accuracy of any specific geometrical model or formulation, there’s still this great in browser 3D model you can play with, allowing you to create entire universes essentially from the ground up, so to speak.
Then there’s this somewhat shorter TED lecture with Garrett Lisi on his “Theory of Everything” that you might also want to take the time to watch. Genuinely a fascinating interpretation of those multilevel relationships existing between elementary particles, and fundamental forces which bind our physical existence together.
